One of the most needed rules that Virginia Shea has offered and everyone need to apply it while being in the internet is "Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life". Of course at some point we find people react very differently while being in Facebook or Twitter than interacting with people in their daily life. unfortunately they don't react in a better way but they become more toxic and unfriendly with very bad manners and using bad words that they don't use it in real life till you find yourself surprised how did this polite boy say these things in that Facebook post.For example once a famous guy on Facebook with a lot of followers said something that was simply wrong when he was corrected face to face he accepted the advice peacefully but when he wrote about it in Facebook the rant began and it was like another person not the same guy who was speaking face to face. Despite the fact that this rule is effective and good but it needs a little change. If people are being good just because everyone's eyes on them then of course when they become anonymous there's nothing wrong to remove this mask off them and react badly to others. I think it's better to say the old saying "Treat people as you want to be treated" that way we guarantee that people actually care about being good on the internet and not just put another mask on Facebook but when They go to 4chan they remove that mask and become toxic. So it starts with the human himself with believing in change for the better and willing to do it that way we will have a better community in general.
Self discipline is something essential if we want this rule to be effective. If we didn't teach children from the beginning that they have responsibility and there are some bad things and manners that must be avoided for the good cause and good manners that must be acquired for the best and explaining to children why this is good and this is bad then I think we will have a lot of people with double identities and a lot of masks.
